Tiburon Town Council on March 5 approved a slate of reappointments and new appointments to advisory boards and commissions and voted to approve the consent calendar.
The actions, taken during a public meeting that included candidate interviews held earlier in the evening, move a group of incumbents and applicants into staggered terms on commissions that advise council on planning, parks, disaster preparedness and equity matters.
At the outset the council unanimously approved the consent calendar by roll call; Council members Fredericks, Nick Farr and Ryan and Mayor Thier voted yes; Vice Mayor Wallner was absent.

What the approvals mean
These commissions are advisory bodies; the council retains final authority on land use, budget and policy decisions. Appointees will serve staggered terms, the council noted in its staff report, and most terms are four years. The Town Manager presented a table of vacancies and incumbents at the meeting and confirmed that the town accepts applications each spring regardless of incumbency.
Next steps
Following the appointments the council went into closed session and then adjourned. Newly appointed commissioners and reappointed incumbents will be notified by staff of start dates, orientation and upcoming meeting schedules.
