Commission approves conditional-use permit for RV storage on 4.38 acres near North Broadway

The City of Joshua Planning and Zoning Commission approved a conditional-use permit to allow storage of multiple recreational vehicles on a 4.38-acre parcel near North Broadway.

City planning staff told the commission the property is zoned C-2 General Commercial and that RV storage is permitted with a conditional use permit, allowing the city to impose conditions to mitigate impacts. Staff recommended approval and outlined proposed conditions: no storage of wrecked vehicles or vehicle dismantling, no storage of vehicle parts, and screening of vehicles stored for repair from the public right-of-way.

The applicant, identified in the record as the property owner, said he expects to start with about 20 RV spaces and expand to 30 or 40 if demand requires. He told the commission the surface will initially be gravel with a concrete drive around the perimeter, and a four-inch concrete base will be used for paved sections.
