The Sullivan County Legislature proclaimed March 2025 as American Red Cross Month at the Public Safety and Law Enforcement Committee meeting on March 6.
Zachariah Riley, executive director of the local Red Cross chapter, thanked the county and described the local chapter’s volunteer base and five lines of service, including disaster response, emergency communications for military families and blood collection. He noted the Red Cross supplies about 40% of the nation’s blood supply and encouraged blood donation during March, when donors will receive A1C testing as part of the donation screening.
