District staff said the naming proposal followed Board policy FF’s process (community and district committee review) and that committee members found broad support. One community member raised a general concern about naming facilities after living persons, but the committee did not find specific issues with Giuliani’s record; Giuliani retired in 2018 and died in fall 2024, presenters said. Staff recommended the board consider the proposal as an action item later so that family and colleagues can attend a dedication.
