Majority Leader Heiner told the House the chamber originally added a provision to require $10,000,000 of the state energy matching fund be used to design a new coal-fired power plant, but members removed that provision during negotiations. “Because of that amendment, we were able to reach an agreement with with the organization that, stewards our energy matching funds,” Heiner said, and the conference committee agreed the design provision “does not need to be in the statute at this point.”
