Votes at a glance: Council approves playground shade sails, vehicle purchases and event permit

Middleton City Council members on March 5 approved several agenda items during a meeting at City Hall, including a contract amendment to add shade sails and poles to a planned accessibility playground, authorization to purchase a detective vehicle, repair work on a police Tahoe and a special-event permit for a color dash to raise autism awareness.

The council voted to: (1) authorize the mayor to amend an existing contract with Garrett Parks and Play to include the purchase and installation of shade sails and poles for the accessibility playground (amount not to exceed $89,072.06); (2) authorize purchase of a detective vehicle in an amount not to exceed $34,000; (3) approve repairs to a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe up to $10,267.60; (4) approve the Greater Middleton Parks and Recreation special-event permit for the Middleton Color Dash for autism awareness on April 26, 2025, and waive associated city fees; and (5) approve…
