Daggett County commissioners voted to begin the formal petition to vacate a stretch of right of way on First North that will allow creation of a parcel intended for a new county clinic.
At the meeting the county's assistant or county official outlined the statutory process and the board discussed next steps. Staff confirmed the county must provide 10 days' notice under the relevant statute before a final vacation can be approved. A county official said they would deliver the petition language to the clerk that afternoon: "I'll give Lorinda the actual petition and the language for her to add it. I'll give that to her this afternoon," one commissioner said.
The petition will require proof of written notice to utilities that run through the property. Commissioners and staff identified possible utilities to notify, including the town water service, Bridger Valley Electric, Union Telephone and a fiber cable serving the elementary school. Staff said they would confirm the full list of utilities with the school manager.
A commissioner moved to start the petition process and set the required notices; another commissioner seconded. The board called for the question and recorded the motion as carried.
