Oconee County Schools reports 100% compliance on state special-education indicators

Oconee County Schools told the board on March 3 that it received full compliance ratings from the state on federally required special-education indicators tied to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
In a presentation to the board, the district's special education department reported that Georgia reviewed local education agency data across several indicators -- including timely corrections, timely and accurate data, and maintenance of effort -- and returned a final determination showing the district met all requirements. "This was our report card and we had a 100% on all the requirements that are needed for special education," the presenter said.
The district noted the state uses a numeric determination scale; after reviewing data for indicators 4B, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and others, the state provided the district's final determination to the superintendent and special education department. The report was informational and no board action was requested at the March 3 work session.
