WCPS outlines summer learning, facilities work and $55,000 in recent grants

District administrators gave an overview of planned summer learning, facilities projects and recent grant activity during the June Board of Education meeting.
Dr. Briggs described summer learning offerings: two targeted elementary programs, "CRUISE" and "SOAR," will run Monday through Thursday, July 7July 30 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and participation will be by invitation based on assessment data with approximately 500 students invited. Dr. Briggs said CRUISE will be held at Prince Street Elementary for Prince, Chipman and Glenn Avenue clusters while SOAR will be at West Salisbury, Beaver Run and Fruitland Intermediate.
