Monticello board accepts $6,023 in community donations for athletics, robotics, fishing and summer music

The Monticello Public School District school board unanimously approved acceptance of four donations totaling $6,023 at its June meeting.
Superintendent Eric Olsen presented the donations. He listed the gifts as: an anonymous $2,500 donation to help pay for boys tennis coaches; $1,000 from the Monticello VFW to support the district’s robotics team; $1,000 from All of Elements Incorporated for the Monticello Fishing Team sponsorship; and $2,523 from the Central Minnesota Arts Board to support a Community Strings program scheduled for the summer.
Moved by Jeff Hegley and seconded by Mary Bartel, the board approved acceptance of the donations by voice vote, 6-0.
The donations were reported as agenda items and accepted into the district’s accounts; the board did not discuss any changes to program budgets as part of the motion.
