The Albany County Legislature approved a reimbursement agreement with the New York State Unified Court System for custodial, repair and preventative maintenance services at the Albany County Courthouse, Judicial Center and Family Court facilities.
Commissioner Latina presented the item as the second period of the existing five-year contract with the state court system. The administration said the Unified Court System’s reimbursement for the fiscal year covering April through March 2025 provides total reimbursements of $1,149,000.
County staff explained that the line-item reimbursement is based on the courts’ usage percentages of the county facilities; after the county submits a recap sheet, the Unified Court System approves and returns the reimbursement amount. Legislators moved and seconded the authorization and the item carried unanimously.
The agreement outlines the state’s share of custodial and maintenance costs for court-used space across multiple county facilities; the legislature did not alter contract terms during the meeting.
