Council members also discussed buying or otherwise acquiring a small tractor (roughly 90–100 horsepower) to mow streets and park strips rather than relying on an external contractor. The town currently pays about $3,000 per year to have streets mowed by a contractor; members said buying a used or moderately priced tractor could be cost-effective and provide more scheduling control.
Council did not take a formal vote to purchase equipment at the meeting. Staff were directed to gather price estimates and to advertise again for a street-mowing contract while the town evaluates options.
