Town code generally prohibits animated, flashing or attached‑to‑back‑of‑wall signage and limits non‑masonry material percentages for some signs.
Staff said the sign faces west toward the neighborhood and is primarily visible to drivers leaving the subdivision; it is not a high‑visibility arterial sign. The staff recommendation, adopted by the council, requires the sign to receive a permit and inspection to ensure compliance with building codes. Councilmembers emphasized the permit‑by‑exception process is discretionary and that future exceptions would be evaluated individually.
Motion and vote. Council voted unanimously to approve the staff recommendation and permit the subject sign with inspection.
