The council discussed specific concerns: trash collection and dumpsters, competition with the existing burger stand, whether fees should be percentage-based (a 10% figure was mentioned) or a fixed slot fee, and whether different fees should apply for operators using the city’s burger stand versus independent shacks. Members suggested criteria that include food quality and duplication avoidance and asked staff to identify potential spots with water and electricity hookups.
Council directed staff to collect suggestions over the next week, revise the draft with Planning and Zoning (Kehlani) and bring a refined policy back next month. Members said they expect to vet candidate vendors, potentially seek bids, and determine infrastructure needs such as leveling, gravel and electrical hookups before making selections.
