Flint Hills MPO to host Connect 2050 open house Feb. 4; Geary County officials invited

Jared Tremblay of the Flint Hills Metropolitan Planning Organization told the Geary County Commission the MPO will hold an open house on Feb. 4 to present its Connect 2050 long-range transportation plan and the model that looks out to the year 2050.
"I just wanted to stop by today, and invite you 3 to our open house we'll be holding February 4," Tremblay said. He said the meeting will include local projects such as the Taylor Road interchange and will be held at the library; the session will be arranged so the Brownfield Grand Avenue public meeting and the MPO open house occur in adjacent spaces so attendees can visit both.
Commissioners and staff said they would publicize the meeting and encourage attendance; Tremblay said he would forward materials to local contacts, including the Garrison command and other stakeholders. The MPO presentation is intended to gather public input on land-use and transportation projections tied to population growth through 2050.
