Village staff report youth programming, MLK service projects and Youth Council plans

Smith also noted a Boys & Girls Club youth — Phil Jean — won Youth of the Year and secured four years of college funding.
Smith previewed a Village of Wellington Day of the Youth scheduled for Friday, May 2, from 6 to 9 p.m., describing a youth talent show, school clubs, nonprofit mental‑health resources (May is Mental Health Awareness Month) and promotional materials to be finalized by the youth council.
Other ongoing items Smith mentioned included seasonal SWAG (mentorship and internship) programs for high school students, transportation assistance for students to the Boys & Girls Club and ongoing neighborhood engagement events called "Super Saturday" where staff provide activities and information at local parks.
