The Millbrae City School District Board of Trustees approved a job description for a Director of Bond Projects and Construction, clearing the way for the district to post the position as it prepares to implement Measure J bond projects.
The board discussed two approaches to securing project management capacity: a direct hire or contracting with a construction-management firm. Trustees said the district wanted to first post the position and evaluate the applicant pool; if the pool lacked qualified candidates, the board might pursue contracting instead.
Trustees noted they had discussed bond next steps at a special meeting on Feb. 21, 2025. The posted job description is intended to help the district qualify candidates and determine whether a direct hire is feasible. The board approved the description by voice vote.
District staff indicated that posting the position is an initial step; final hiring decisions, contracting authorizations and the selection process will follow established procurement and hiring policies.
