Kearney said she noticed "we've been paying state 48 public affairs 3000 dollars every month for a while now" and asked the superintendent to "dissolve all contracts and agreements with state 48 public affairs so we may put those needed funds toward our school sites." The superintendent and staff clarified that the accounts-payable report is a monthly notification to the board under policy DJE and not an action item; dissolving contracts would require a separate agenda item.
Miss Crozier (district finance staff) and other staff explained the report presents previously authorized expenditures and that action to cancel or change contracts would come back on a future agenda. Kearney said she would email a request for an agenda item to examine the contracts.
Board President Donna Lewis moved to accept the monthly expenditure report as presented; Dr. Petinski seconded the motion. The board voted to accept the report; the transcript records the motion passed unanimously.
