Lancaster HARB records administrative approvals, postpones officer elections and discusses broker search

The Lancaster City Historical Architectural Review Board recorded a set of administrative approvals, accepted minutes from the Dec. 3 meeting and postponed its election of chair and vice chair for 2025 until a future meeting.

The HARB chair (name not specified) listed administrative approvals included: 16 South Lime Street (installation of rubber roofing on a flat roof); 229 Church Street (in-kind replacement of asphalt roof shingles); 220 Howard Avenue (in-kind replacement of asphalt roof shingles); 2429 Church Street (in-kind replacement of cedar shake roof and cedar siding); 208 North Concord Street (in-kind replacement of steel door with sidelight and recessed entryway); and 107 Howard Avenue (replacement of one-over-one wooden windows on the facade following a violation notice for an unpermitted bridal sash installation). The chair said those items would be "part of the record." No roll-call or vote tallies were recorded for the administrative approvals in the transcript.

A HARB member moved to accept the minutes from Dec. 3 as presented; the chair called for the ayes and the motion carried by voice vote with no roll-call tally recorded.

On other business, the board agreed to postpone election of officers to ensure a full membership was present. The chair also said the board needs to find a licensed real estate professional (a broker) to serve in that capacity for certain property transactions; a prospective broker who does not live in Lancaster had expressed interest and had experience or interest in historic preservation. The chair said a connection had been made with Suzanne and that the conversation was ongoing. No formal appointment was made during the meeting.
