The Syracuse City Planning Commission voted to approve a site-plan amendment for Pacific Steel that expands the company’s office area on the south side of its building at 404 South 1080 West.
City staff presented the amendment as a modest addition that keeps the building’s existing color palette and materials and does not reduce landscaping. "This doesn't reduce any landscaping," staff said, adding that the parking and façade lengths meet code requirements. The commission opened and closed the scheduled public hearing with no members of the public commenting on the item.
Noah, a city staff member who presented the plan, said the proposed addition meets all site-plan and building-permit requirements and recommended approval. Commissioner Garn moved to approve the industrial site-plan amendment on behalf of applicant Chad Spencer; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
The commission’s approval covers the site-plan elements discussed on the record: building elevations, parking, landscaping and façade standards. The staff presentation noted the project would still require standard building permits and inspections as the work proceeds.
The commission returned remaining time on the agenda to other scheduled hearings.
The motion carried by voice vote; no roll-call tally was read into the record.
