Commissioners grant electric distribution easement to Lower Valley Energy for Stilson Transit Center

The Teton County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved March 4 an electric distribution easement to Lower Valley Energy for Lot 7 at the Stilson Transit Center. The underground easement will provide electric service for the transit center building, well control, a bike shelter and a planned electric-vehicle (EV) charging area.
Public Works Director Heather Overholser presented the easement and noted the two easement locations are within the parking-lot footprint and that the utilities will be underground. Commissioners asked for assurance the easement would not intrude into habitat areas; Overholser said the more-detailed map staff provided answered that question.
Commissioner Pope moved approval; Commissioner Macker seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
Why it matters
The Stilson Transit Center is among the county and town’s transportation investments; the easement enables underground electric service for transit and future EV infrastructure.
Next steps
Lower Valley Energy and county staff will finalize easement documentation and proceed with underground utility installation as part of transit center construction and site work.
