Adopt FY2026 budget calendar: Staff presented a proposed budget calendar for the 2025–26 fiscal year, noting some schedule flexibility between April and July but firm dates in August and September to comply with state timelines. The council adopted the calendar unanimously.
Approve ordinance amending development and engineering fees: (See separate coverage.) The council adopted an ordinance that restructured inspection and development fees to comply with changes in state law (as cited by staff) and added a grading-permit fee, among other adjustments. The ordinance passed unanimously.
Authorize property-acquisition actions for FM 544 pedestrian bridge corridor: Following an executive session concerning acquisition of property needed for the FM 544 pedestrian-bridge project, council voted to authorize the city manager or her designee to obtain and review third-party appraisals and to negotiate with owners of portions of 104 South Maxwell Creek and 108 South Maxwell Creek. The motion included authorization to ratify prior actions taken by the city manager or designee in furtherance of those acquisitions. The motion passed unanimously.
