The commission reviewed a request by Anne Jacobs to infill rear openings and replace slider windows at 2721 North Lake Drive in the North Lake Drive Historic District. Jacobs appeared and provided window drawings to the commission.
Staff described the rear of the house as extensively altered in earlier remodels (1958 and 1974) with existing slider windows and a variety of nonhistoric treatments. Jacobs proposed to fill several openings with brick to match existing rear masonry and to shorten and replace one slider with a casement window; she said she planned to salvage brick from a previously rebuilt portico and to match other rear bricks as closely as possible.
Staff recommended approval with standard masonry conditions and requested final window drawings from the applicant. The commission approved the proposal subject to the standard masonry conditions and the applicant’s submittal of final drawings.
