Kroger to renew Kerber Aquatic Center naming rights; council to review agreement

City staff informed the Huber Heights City Council on March 4 that Kroger has signaled intent to renew the naming-rights agreement for the Kerber Aquatic Center and to provide additional funding over the next five years.
Mike (staff) said the prior five-year agreement totaled $175,000 and that Kroger has proposed a total of $200,000 over five years, including an $8,000 contribution for the coming season. Staff said the draft agreement has been reviewed by the law director and that final cleanup is under review by Kroger; once Kroger signs the agreement it will be placed on the council agenda for formal approval.
Councilmembers expressed general support and staff indicated they will return with the final executed agreement for council action. No formal council vote or ordinance was taken at the work session.
