Cody council approves restaurant liquor license for Rancho Chico at 1219 Sheridan Avenue

City staff member Cindy Baker told the council the application file was complete with the State Liquor Division and that the outstanding item was the Department of Agriculture’s final inspection and food service permit. "The only thing we are missing right now is the food service permit and final inspection from the Department of Agriculture," Baker said. The council made the approval contingent on receipt of that permit and confirmation from the State Liquor Division.
An applicant representative described planned hours and an opening timeframe: the restaurant would operate about 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, and the owners said they were targeting an opening in March or April 2025. The applicant estimated roughly 20 employees and told council members they would consider quick-service options such as a buffet or grab-and-go offerings to accommodate high school students on short lunch breaks.
Council Member MacIsaac moved to approve the application; Council Member Shreve seconded. The council voted and the mayor called for the question; members responded "Aye" and the motion carried. The council did not record individual vote tallies in the meeting transcript.
Cindy Baker said the city would not issue the license until the Department of Agriculture signs off on the food service permit and the State Liquor Division provides final confirmation. Until those documents are submitted, the license remains contingent.
At the same meeting the council heard a brief presentation from a representative of the Wyoming Wildlife Federation about a community conservation event planned for June 14, and members reminded the public of meet-and-greet sessions for city administrator candidates scheduled for Olive Glen. The council also offered condolences and continued support for the nearby town of Byron following a recent tragedy.
