Planning Director Lisa Hannon said the application, listed as CP‑25‑0001 for “Decatur Office Village,” proposes to change the current designation of Compact Neighborhood to Professional Services and Light Industrial to permit medical offices and a medical campus. The site is zoned C‑2 (Thoroughfare Business), which staff noted already permits medical campus and medical office uses.
Hannon said staff had received no written responses from property owners as of the meeting and recommended approval of the comprehensive plan amendment. Commissioners asked whether renderings existed (none were in the packet) and confirmed the location is near the city’s police station on the south side of Thompson. No one from the public appeared to speak for or against the item during the hearing.
A commissioner moved to recommend approval to city council and the motion passed with all members voting aye. The recommendation will be forwarded to council for final consideration; staff indicated future submittals would provide design and engineering details as the project progresses.
