The administrator said the county has staked the pad location for a planned senior center and expects the road department to prepare the site soon. He also described plans for a dedicated Wayne County transit facility to include a small office for transit staff, a driver break room, covered parking for buses and on-site fueling adjacent to fleet maintenance; state grants were cited as the expected major funding source.
Other capital projects discussed included new pickleball courts nearing concrete forming and progress on a multipurpose equestrian center where block layers have begun work on a concession stand. Staff said construction schedules depend on road department availability and grant timelines.
