CARSON CITY, Nev. — During floor remarks on March 4, senators welcomed several visiting delegations, recognized Problem Gambling Awareness Day and Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day, and noted an appropriation to support public outreach on problem gambling.
Senator D'Onterra Loop told the Senate that the Nevada advisory committee on problem gambling would distribute a report to members and that, during the 80th Nevada Legislative Session, the legislature appropriated $500,000 to assist the committee’s public outreach and education efforts. Loop identified Alan Feldman as chair of the advisory committee and highlighted his role in responsible-gaming work; the floor record notes Feldman was inducted into the American Gaming Association Hall of Fame in 2024 and serves as a distinguished fellow at the International Gaming Institute at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Senator Wynne also welcomed representatives of the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM), noting the group’s role in Nevada’s gaming equipment and supplier industry and their economic contributions. Senator Orinshaw asked the chamber to recognize Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day, invited attendees to the foyer displays and urged colleagues to engage with guests visiting the legislature.
The floor remarks were ceremonial and no formal action was taken; senators encouraged colleagues and members of the public to visit the display tables in the front foyer where committee materials and outreach information were available.
