Staff also said they had sent letters to contractors who pulled fence permits over the last three years, asking them to confirm permit requirements with the City before construction.
The outreach follows board concerns that denying post‑construction fence height exception applications can impose heavy financial burdens on homeowners who already built fences without obtaining permits. Board members thanked staff for the prompt communications effort; one member referenced seeing the social‑media post within days of the prior meeting.
No formal action was taken; staff framed the outreach as an administrative effort intended to reduce future permit violations and spare homeowners from retroactive enforcement costs.
