Kaufman County commissioners approve routine business, property sale and payroll claims

Kaufman County Commissioners Court approved a series of routine items, appointments and payments during a regular meeting at the Kaufman County Annex in March.

The court approved the consent agenda, accepted several deputations for the tax assessor's office, accepted the veteran services quarterly report, approved audited financial statements for a merchant service district, authorized a county property sale in Kemp under state statute, made board nominations and approved weekly claims and payroll totaling $2,912,768.43.

The approvals were routine and passed by voice vote after motions from the commissioners. No roll-call tallies with individual yes/no votes were recorded in the meeting transcript; motions were carried after commissioners answered “aye.”
