Tulare County confirms library advisory appointment; UC Cooperative Extension introduces new area director

The Tulare County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the appointment of Alexis Espinosa to represent District 5 on the Tulare County Library Advisory Board during its March 4 meeting.
Supervisor Dennis Townsend moved to pull the item for separate consideration and publicly thanked Espinosa for volunteering. Espinosa introduced herself to the board and said she was appointed through 2028 and looks forward to advocating for literacy countywide. "I'm super passionate about District 5," she told the board; she also announced the library advisory board’s next meeting on March 11.
The appointment was advanced with a motion by Supervisor Larry McCarrie and a second by Vice Chair Eddie Valero and passed unanimously.
Earlier in the public comment period, Karam Jotrendhava, outgoing director for the local University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) office, introduced Leonel Jimenez as the incoming area director. Jimenez said he will serve as area director for Tulare, Kern and Kings counties and will support agriculture advisors and community groups across the region. "I look forward to working with you in the future," Jimenez said.
The board accepted the appointment and introductions as part of its consent and public comment processes; no separate funding or policy actions were announced.
