Commissioners asked staff to solicit quotes for alternatives (for example, a pre‑2016 machine with up to ~3,000 hours, and versions with and without extended warranties) and to return to the commission with those options at the next meeting. One commissioner suggested $185,000 as an upper budget target; commissioners authorized staff to explore both new and used options and report back. No purchase order was approved at the meeting.
