Council approves Redwood/Chestnut study update and design proposal for Pioneer Lift Station

The council approved a motion to accept the study update proposal; the presenter said no agreement with outside parties existed yet and described the action as a goodwill gesture to develop current numbers.
The council also approved a design proposal by BGR Engineering to reconstruct the Pioneer Lift Station, which staff said is reaching the end of its useful life after roughly 40 years in service. Staff described plans to move to submersible pumps from the current wet-well vertical pumps and indicated the department aims to upgrade one lift station per year, with Pioneer identified as the highest immediate priority. The council approved the design proposal by voice vote.
