Members asked staff to examine how other municipalities link enforcement to permits or licensing for private plow operators and whether alternative disciplinary mechanisms could be used.
Staff said Dan would review other municipalities’ language and bring model ordinance language back to the board. The workshop discussion emphasized the need for a system that allows consistent accountability for sidewalk clearing and plowing practices, but no ordinance change or vote was taken at the workshop.
