Developers, town near agreement on Rivertown contribution to Whitehaven lift station

Staff and developers said the design for the lift station improvements is largely complete and that downstream approvals from the state Department of Health and county authorities remain the gating item for hookup timing. A number discussed a proposed contribution figure of $35,000 but said they needed to confirm how any unsettled litigation or accounting flags would affect how those funds are handled.
The developers reported they had revised the athletic building footprint to lower its profile — countersinking the building into the site to reduce visual impact and better preserve trees — and said that change also simplified some exiting and site‑layout issues. Board members asked to move unresolved technical or legal questions into executive session for further review.
Board member Josiah said several detailed technical questions would need to be asked in executive session. Staff and developer attorneys will finalize the numeric contribution and return a final draft of the contribution agreement for the town attorney’s review. The board did not take a formal vote on the agreement during the workshop.
