Parks and Recreation withdraws Clark Reservoir bids after DEP rescinds approval; will reissue with changes

During the agenda-setting session of the Union County Board of County Commissioners, the Department of Parks and Recreation reported that bids for work at Clark Reservoir were withdrawn after the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection rescinded approval for a small part of the plan.
The department said the change identified by the DEP could not be made in time before the bid submission deadline, so the county withdrew the bid package and will reissue it with the DEP-required modification. The department told commissioners the scope of the project otherwise remains unchanged.
Because of the size of the project, the Office of the State Controller must approve the solicitation and the county must include a resolution documenting the change, the department said. The department presented the item on the agenda to ensure the resolution was on the record for the state controller's review.
