Zach Hettenbach introduced members of the club and said the group consulted with parks staff (Frank) about needed items and opted to donate a lump sum to allow staff to select the specific equipment. “We talked to Frank and just asked him what he could use... He said he could get it tax free, so we just thought we'd go ahead and donate the lump sum to him and let him pick out exactly what he wanted,” Hettenbach said.
Ignite representatives noted the funds were raised from gate receipts during the organization’s Christmas display; council members thanked the group and volunteers for the event and the donation. City staff said parks staff would work with Ignite on selection and procurement consistent with city purchasing rules and prioritization of needed amenities.
