Board members discussed implications for student safety and clarified the policy does not automatically permit police to conduct vehicle searches; officers must still follow state law for searches. One member said existing facility‑use reciprocity with the city and YMCA will remain in effect and that the change simply gives police enforcement authority without requiring a separate memorandum of understanding.
