Council recommends approval of Margarita Factory liquor license for Keizer Station space
Summary
After staff review and a background check by police, the Keizer City Council recommended approval of an OLCC retail on-premises liquor license for Margarita Factory, to be located at 6045 Keizer Station Boulevard.
At a public hearing March 3 the Keizer City Council recommended approval of an application for an on-premises retail sales and consumption liquor license for Margarita Factory LLC, proposed at 6045 Keizer Station Boulevard.
City recorder Miss Bissett presented the application, reporting that required public notice had been published and mailed, the planning department found the location properly zoned, and the police department’s background check prompted no recommendation of denial.
No members of the public asked to speak during the hearing. After brief council questions about the exact Keizer Station address and location in the shopping center (“the old Bricks”), Council President Starr moved to recommend the license to the Oregon Liquor Control Commission under ORS 471.175 and city ordinances. The motion passed unanimously.
Why this matters: the council’s action is a recommendation to the state OLCC; the council’s action does not itself issue the license. The OLCC retains final authority under state law.
What’s next: staff will forward the council’s recommendation and the application materials to the OLCC for the state agency’s final action.
