The council later considered the same resolution and approved award to the firm and the authorization for execution.
The motion and resolution were presented as routine procurement actions in support of the school construction schedule. The feasibility study is intended to evaluate whether a project labor agreement is appropriate for the new school construction and to inform next steps in the town's procurement and project labor planning. The council packet shows the town intends to proceed to construction-document delivery to Gilbane Construction on March 7 and expects bidding activity to begin following that step.
Ending Town staff said the school project remains on time and on budget; the study will inform labor and contracting approaches for the larger school construction work.
