The mayor named Vanessa Stevens to the Human Rights Commission (term expiring December 30, 2026), Tanya Denison to the Transportation Commission (term expiring December 30, 2029) and Leah Halterman to the Affordable Housing Commission (term expiring December 30, 2027). A council member moved to approve the trio and a second was recorded; the roll call recorded all council members voting "Aye."
Two appointees spoke briefly. Leah Halterman said she is a realtor in Moscow with more than five years’ experience and that she hopes to be an asset on affordable housing matters. Tanya Denison said she has volunteered with active-transportation work, previously served on the Moscow Pathways Commission, hosted public outreach events and hopes to represent walkers, cyclists and drivers in future Transportation Commission work.
Vanessa Stevens was not present at the microphone.
The mayor encouraged appointees to come to the podium but said appearances were optional. The council’s minutes record the appointments and terms for each commission.
