Council adopts consent agenda and routine motions, including excused absence and multiple procurement and construction items

Durham City Council unanimously adopted its consent agenda and approved a short administrative motion to excuse a council member’s upcoming absence.

The consent agenda—moved, seconded and approved 7-0—included appointments and reports, contract amendments, construction contract awards, and other routine administrative actions. Items read into the record included: Planning Commission appointment; Human Relations Commission appointment; a procurement card (P-card) performance audit (January 2025); boards, committees and commissions attendance reports for 2024; Discover Durham (convention and visitors bureau) annual report; Community Development Block Grant program grant ordinance amendments for FY2021 and FY2022; a construction manager-at-risk agreement for Public Works Operation Center renovation with C.T. Wilson Construction Company; the Housing Appeals Board annual report for FY2024; the FY2024 fourth-quarter crime report; amendments to stormwater web-portal maintenance contracts; several supplemental agreements for multimodal safety and road design projects; an amendment to the contract with RATP Dev USA for GoDurham fixed-route transit operations; GoDurham FY2024 annual report; multiple construction contract awards for water and sewer repairs; and a public hearing set for a Clegg Drive street closing (which was later heard and decided during the meeting).

Separately, the council approved a motion (moved and seconded on the record) to excuse Councilmember Freeman from the Thursday meeting; the clerk recorded the motion as passing unanimously.
