During public comment on March 4 resident Harry Pollock urged the city to consider replacing Everbridge with a civic engagement app called ‘‘MyCivic’’ by Tyler Technologies. Pollock said Everbridge, which the city pays about $7,546 per year to operate, has limited two‑way capabilities and that MyCivic would provide broader features including event calendars, direct service‑request photo uploads with GPS location and integration with the city’s Channel 3 content.
Pollock said he was not representing either company but suggested the app would cost about the same as Everbridge while offering more citizen engagement features; he offered to provide a demo copy of an existing city app for council review. Council members said they would review the suggestion and take a demo under advisement during subsequent staff discussions. No formal action was taken; the matter will be routed to staff for review if council requests a demonstration.
