The Cottage Grove Convention and Visitors Bureau on Aug. 26 approved a service agreement, subject to minor city-attorney modifications, with Dapper Dog Marketing to redesign the Discover Cottage Grove website. Staff presented two vendor quotes: Dapper Dog Marketing at $7,150 and Anselman Innovations at $11,000.
Phil, a CVB staff member, reviewed the board's earlier discussion of a possible website redesign and the strategic-plan recommendation to refresh the site. Staff said the two vendors presented different approaches: one quote proposed a Wix-hosted site and the other was not Wix-based. Staff said either vendor would produce a solid redesign and that references and proposals for both companies were favorable.
Director Levine moved to approve the service agreement with Dapper Dog Marketing, and Director Hovat seconded; the board voted in favor and the motion carried. Board members commenting on the vendor selection noted Dapper Dog's local ties and chamber membership and praised Tara (Dapper Dog) by reference.
Votes at a glance

- Approve 2026 Cottage Grove CVB preliminary budget (agenda item): motion moved by Director Reese, seconded by Director Levine; outcome approved.
- Approve service agreement with Dapper Dog Marketing for website redesign (subject to minor modifications by the city attorney): motion moved by Director Levine, seconded by Director Hovat; outcome approved. Quote from Dapper Dog: $7,150. Alternate quote: Anselman Innovations $11,000.
- Adjournment motion: moved and seconded; outcome approved.
Staff asked the board for guidance on funding the redesign if approved; Phil said anticipated sources included savings from visitor-guide printing and unspent social-media advertising dollars. Staff noted routine website maintenance (SEO, image updates, content correction) would continue regardless of whether a full redesign proceeds.
