County staff said the TAC premium had not risen in the previous two years but will cost the county "$70.77 dollars and 39¢ per employee" to remain on the current plan for 2026. Staff said medical premiums rose 7.7% and dental premiums rose about 11%; county leaders said those increases were smaller than in some neighboring counties and that the anticipated increase had been budgeted.
County HR staff (referred to in the meeting as Sharon and Annette) and TAC agreed the county should count an employee’s first day as the first day of employment for insurance‑waiting‑period purposes; commissioners moved to approve the TAC renewal with that amendment. Commissioner Parker made the motion and Commissioner Parchman seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
