Commission approves rezoning and gives preliminary OK for US 42 North mixed-use PUD; housing, assisted-living, hotel and park donation discussed

Dwight McCabe, representing Dublin Cosgray LLC, presented a multi-parcel Planned Unit Development concept for approximately 57.91 acres along State Route 42 (RZ25-2) and an adjacent 0.65-acre parcel (RZ25-3). McCabe described the proposal as a mixed-use assemblage that, in the applicants presentation, would include a nursing home candidate, an assisted-living facility, a reduced-size apartment project (the applicant said the apartment count was reduced to the "3 to 330 range" from earlier higher estimates), commercial frontage along US 42, a possible hotel site shown set back from the highway, and, notably, a donation of roughly 39 acres of riparian land to the city for park/open-space and trail connectivity along Big Darby Creek.
