The Moorhead Area Public Schools Board approved the 2025–26 employee handbook with one notable change related to meal and break periods required by recent legislation.
Tamar (district staff) told the board most updates reflect renumbered policies and staffing changes; the only substantive legal change is on the meal-and-break language (page 8 of the handbook). The revised language clarifies that a 15‑minute break is normally paid but may be extended to allow use of the nearest convenient restroom or processing consistent with changed legislation. Tamar described the change as a statutory adjustment; other handbook provisions remain contractual and unchanged.
Board member Laura Lee moved to approve the handbook; Keith seconded and the motion passed by voice vote. Administration said the handbook will be distributed for the 2025–26 school year with the revised language incorporated.
