Mike Puppy, president of Lakeview Bank and a member of the Lakeville Rotary, presented details of the 23rd annual Taste of Lakeville at the July 20 council meeting.
"This year, the Lakeville Rotary Club will host the 23rd annual Taste of Lakeville on Thursday, August 14 at the Lakeville Area Arts Center. The event will run from 5 to 9 p.m.," Puppy said.
Puppy said advance tickets are $50 and $60 at the gate and can be purchased online at tasteoflakeville.org or at several local outlets. With one ticket attendees may sample unlimited food from more than 30 restaurants, caterers and food trucks, and participate in wine, beer and spirit tastings. The event includes a souvenir wine glass, a photo booth, yard games and an online auction running Aug. 12โ19.
Proceeds from the event support Lakeville Rotary charitable work, Puppy said; the presentation listed scholarships, community action, food shelves and parks among beneficiaries. He said the Rotary has provided more than $325,000 in donations and grants over the last two years and that about 16 nonprofits were expected to be on-site at the Arts Center during the event.
Mayor Luke Kelly and council members thanked the Rotary for its contributions to city programs and parks. No council action was required; the presentation was informational.
