The Tolleson Union High School District Governing Board recorded the following formal outcomes during the Aug. 12 meeting:
• Consent agenda: Approved by roll call (yes votes recorded for five board members; one board member had earlier cast a dissent on a different procedural item). No substantive discussion of individual consent items was recorded.
• Job descriptions: The board approved revised job descriptions for the director of business services and the assistant director of business services by unanimous roll call.
• Policy JICJ (Student use of personal digital communication and electronic devices): Adopted at second reading by unanimous roll call. The policy limits device use during instructional time while allowing teacher-directed instructional uses and limited noninstructional access (passing periods, lunch); it includes accommodations for students with 504 plans and IEPs and references emergency protocol exceptions.
• ASBA delegate appointment: The board appointed Lisa Sun to serve as delegate to the Arizona School Boards Association Delegate Assembly scheduled for September; the motion passed by roll call.
