Forest Lake — The Forest Lake City Council voted to reschedule its July meeting to July 29 to avoid a conflict with the local Chamber of Commerce’s annual golf event.
Council members discussed whether to cancel or reschedule the July 28 meeting to avoid a conflict with the Chamber’s event, which the staff report described as the Chamber’s “premier event.” After suggestions about alternate dates and comments from council members about individual schedules, a councilmember moved to set the meeting for July 29 and another councilmember seconded the motion. The council approved the change by voice vote.
Council members said rescheduling was intended to avoid forcing officials, staff or residents to choose between attending the Chamber event and participating in council business. The change will shift the council’s July meeting date to Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
